Today we are proud to announce the 80 Startup Finalists for the 4th and largest edition of Bind 4.0! These fine young companies come from 17 different countries and are well-suited to complement our Industry 4.0 Partners and the areas they plan to focus on, in the year ahead.
Our acceleration program has always been open to international applicants but this year we had our work cut out for us after a record number of countries applied, with 80 total countries and 577 total applicants offering solutions in the key areas of Ai, Big Data Analytics, IoT, Robotics, Additive Manufacturing, Cybersecurity, Augmented or Virtual Reality and Artificial Vision. The increase in international candidature each year, proves that the Bind 4.0 Acceleration Program has positioned itself as one of the leading references for innovation and entrepreneurship in Industry 4.0 worldwide.
To ensure our program is mutually beneficial for young companies as well as the established partners, we work hand-in-hand with industry leaders to identify and attract the specialized technology they are seeking. Bind 4.0 is focused on leading edge digitalization technology that can be applied to any of the large thriving industries in the basque region. Each year we have more Partner firms invested in our program and the sectors have expanded from Advanced Manufacturing and Energy to Health Tech and this year Food Tech as well. Equally, as our industry scope increases, so does the amount of Startups and this year we have 80 finalists, a record number so far.
Although we received hundreds of talented candidates with diverse and sophisticated technologies in Industry 4.0, these Finalists had the opportunity to pitch to our 52 Partners and have made a connection which led them to this final stage. In this final phase, we aim to connect our Finalist Startups with a paying customer, a contract with at least one of the Bind 4.0 Partners, as they work on an Industry 4.0 project for the duration of our Acceleration Program.
